A Necessary Demon
/ 84 min / Documentary
While mainstream India celebrates Durga Puja as a victory of good over evil, people from the Kherwal Santhal community mourn the fall of their ancestral king 'Hudur Durga' (also known as Mahishasura). This documentary explores this sensitive socio-political narrative, revealing a powerful alternative subtext that demands to reclaim history and identity through a different cultural lens.
